Antonio García-Zambrana is Professor of Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Málaga and head of WOCLab – Wireless Optical Communications Laboratory.

His research focuses on wireless optical communications, including free-space optical links, underwater optical wireless communications, visible light communications, optical channel modelling, experimental validation and real-time FPGA/RFSoC-based prototyping.

His work combines statistical channel modelling, performance analysis and laboratory-based experimentation, with particular emphasis on turbulence, scattering, pointing effects, channel emulation and adaptive wireless optical communication systems.

He has led and participated in several research projects and technology-transfer activities related to free-space, underwater and visible-light communication systems.
