Beatriz del Castillo-Vázquez is Associate Professor of Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Málaga and a member of WOCLab – Wireless Optical Communications Laboratory.

Her research focuses on wireless optical communications, with particular emphasis on free-space optical links, optical channel modelling, pointing-error effects and system-level performance evaluation under atmospheric turbulence.

Within WOCLab, she contributes to the theoretical modelling, statistical performance analysis and experimental validation of wireless optical communication systems for terrestrial and underwater scenarios.

Her research activity is strongly connected with the analysis of propagation impairments and reliability in optical wireless links, including turbulence-induced fading, misalignment effects and adaptive communication strategies.
