On the effect of inter-symbol interference on mutual information of undersea optical wireless links

Abstract

New insights into the impact of scattering-induced inter-symbol interference (ISI) and oceanic turbulence on channel capacity and mutual information of underwater optical wireless links are analyzed when a binary input constraint is imposed on the channel input and non-uniform on-off keying (OOK) modulation is considered. © 2021 IEEE.
